How much resource does the TLV320AIC3254 softwar edit take from MCU?

    Hello Eric,

    I think it ultimately depends on if the MCU will be sending/receiving audio and what you want to do with that Audio. There definitely needs to be some I2C communication with the MCU and the CODEC. Besides that, if the MCU will be sending/receiving the audio data, you need to ensure that the MCU can support the Audio format according to the CODEC's specifications. 

    Regarding clocks, the CODEC can be configured to receive the clocks or transmit them (Needs an MCLK to operate WCLK and BCLK as outputs). The AIC325x has an internal programmable miniDSP so audio processing can take place within the CODEC.
