Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1863
Hi,
Is it possible to connect multiple PCM1753s in parallel and use them?

Hi Nishie-san,
Do you mean connect the digital I2S inputs together? The digital SPI inputs together? Or short the ANALOG outputs together?
Most the answers are yes. There is no issue with sharing the digital I2S and SPI lines. For the analog outputs, there could be some small offset between them that will cause additional current load floating between the devices. I recommend that if you were to short the outputs together, you do so after an RC filter, to both limit the current and filter noise.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi Paul-san,
Thank you for your reply.
I am thinking of a connection method similar to the following topics. (PCM1863 replaces PCM1753)

When connecting in parallel on I2S, is it correct to recognize that the pins used are BCK and LRCK, DATA?
Best Regards,
Nishie
Hi Nishie-san,
The SPI pins can be shared, but you would still want to have separate ML pins for each device if you want to address them individually. If you are writing the same configuration to both devices then the pins can be shared.
The I2S inputs would be SCK, BCK, LRCK, and DATA.
Thanks,
Paul
