TAS5766MDCAEVM: PPC3 hangs on Updating Components

Part Number: TAS5766MDCAEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5766M

Hi Audio team,

Our customer is getting stuck seeing Updating Components when clicking on Tuning and Audio Processing.  It never ends.

There were able to perform System Calibration before this happened.

See attached.

What should they do?

Thanks,
Darren

  • Hello Darren,

I have not seen this before. I need to check with team if anyone see this before. If not, i will furthur reach software team.

i will come back to you next Monday.

    Dylan

  • Hello Darren,

I tried that again and didn't see this problem. from team experience, it could be IIC communication problem or PPC3 server problem.

Is the IIC connected?  May you also try again today to see if sever related?

    Dylan

  • Hi Dylan,

Yes, an EVM is connected.  The EVM has I2C on it, I assume.  I'm not sure what you're suggesting.  This is an urgent problem, and the customer is unable to work with PPC3 and the EVM.

    Thanks,
    Darren

  • Darren,

As we can't repeat this behavior in my bench, and we see this could be some connection problem. So, please confirm below: 1. make sure the IIC communication is good, try read a register to see the communication is success or not.   2.  this could be a PPC3 server problem. PPC3 is a platform software, and it will do some request from TI's PPC3 server. if the server is shutdown due to maintainance or something else, then the communication will fail and this behavior could happen, and this is the reason i can't repeat this behavior here.

Did you repeated that test in your side? how is the result?

    Dylan

  • Hello Darren,

They should be using the TAS5766M PPC3 app not the TAS5766M_Dual app for the evm they have.

    best regards,

    Luis
