TPA3113D2: Power amplifier

Part Number: TPA3113D2

Hi,

We need to change the speaker from 4ohm 1.5W to 4ohm 3W. Then what is the plimit value(R459) need to set?

In addition, how to enhance the low bass feeling?

note

the amplifier circuit already reviewed prevent so you don't need to re-check it.

  • Hi Josh5566,

I thought you were previously using a 2W speaker not 1.5W.

I'm not sure what the maximum power you want to drive your 4ohm 3W speaker but if it's 3W then the voltage you would need PLimit to be is about 1.225V. Please refer to section 7.3.3 PLIMIT of the TPA3113 datasheet for more details!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by low bass feeling. Can you please give me more details on what you are wanting?

    Best Regards,

    Robert Clifton

  • Hi Robert,

Thanks your replied. I already modified the plimit value. Low bass feeling means bass for speaker.

In addition, if SD pin enable from SOC's GPIO, the speaker has a pop noise, how to improve it?

  • Hi Josh,

The amplifier can't further amplify bass signals more than the other signals as it doesn't have any advance signal processing. However it's possible that the input filter on the front end could be attenuating the bass signals. Section 8.2.1.2.5 Input Capacitor, CI of the datasheet goes over this.

Are you making sure to allow the DC blocking input capacitors to fully charge up after coming out of shutdown before playing audio through it? If not this could be a reason you are hearing more pop noise. We recommend about 14ms in the datasheet.

    Best Regards,
