DIX9211: Operation when AC3 data or DTS data of DIX9211 is input

I am considering an alternative to DIR IC, and please tell me about the behavior when AC3 data or DTS is input to DIX9211.
In the IC before the change, regardless of whether the input data is linear PCM or compressed audio, the data corresponding to the Audio Sample in the subframe of SPDIF is output in I2S format and processed by the DSP in the subsequent stage.
Is it possible for DIX9211 to output the data equivalent to the Audio Sample in the SPDIF subframe on the 1ch I2S format to the subsequent stage for data such as AC3 data and DTS?

Hello,

For non-PCM data such AC3 and DTS this device is unable to transmit in a standardized format as it would for other data types

It is said that AC3 and DTS will be other data type, but is it possible to transmit to the subsequent with 1ch I2S?

This would be possible, but you would need to disable the error that is flagged for non-pcm data

Could you rephrase what you mean by "Please tell me more detail how it will be sent to the subsequent." I am not sure if I understand fully.

The answer I received was "For non-PCM data such AC3 and DTS this device is unable to transmit in a standardized format as it would for other data types".
So the question is, what format is it transmit instead of a standardized format ?

This excerpt from datasheet should answer your question.

DIR: Parity Error Processing Error detection and processing for parity errors behave in the following manner:

• For PCM data, when an error is detected (for example, a parity error), then the data from the previous sample are repeated. This sequence is shown in Figure 9, where sample Ln+1 is repeated because the incoming data (Ln+2) had an error.

• For non-PCM data, the data are output as is with no changes. (Non-PCM data implies data which has Channel Status bit 1 = '1'.)
