Hi Sirs,
My customer reports 50ms latency from TAS2563 I2S input to speaker output in tuning mode. Would you please provide the official I2S latency specification of the TAS2563 DSP?
We also need to know how to configure the device to minimize the I2S latency?
Thank you and Best regard,
Wayne Chen

Hi Wayne,
Let me look into this, although latency may be variable depending on the digital processing features enabled. Let me ask a few questions for the analysis:

Hello Ivan,
My customer uses QFN package. As short latency as possible. Micro second level is the target. I will send customer’s PPC3 profile by Email, it enables dual mono speaker characterization, stereo SDOUT for AEC/NR reference. EQ and DRC are not required.
Thank you and Best regards,

Hi Wayne/Ivan
We can have trade off in "Stereo SDOUT for AEC/NR reference",
DRC/PBE/DEQ are not required, but we enable 1-band EQ to limit the excursion around Fc.
It's great if we can shorten the latency to 20~30msec.
Since reviewer didn't feedback similar concern in our previous platform with TAS2557,
As a comparison, I also would like to know official I2S latency specification of the TAS2557 DSP
Thanks,
Hi YiChuan,
The processing capabilities of TAS2563 are reduced compared to TAS2557, this may explain why this was not mentioned on the previous implementation. QFN version of TAS2563 has more processing capabilities compared to WCSP version, so this would actually help as well.
I received Wayne's email with further details, let me take a look at all this and provide further comments by the end of the week.

We make some mistake in latency measurement and reading,
in fact, the latency is 7~9msec roughly.
And we would like to know what the best case we can get if we turn off unnecessary module.
Hi YiChuan,
Thanks for the notice.
I'll be working on this in the lab next week, will try to send some updates by mid of next week.
