Hello!
Now, I am designing the Amplifier board using the TAS5825M as hybrid mode for PBTL on the woofer channel.
When the output level is sufficiently high it seems to work fine (probably operating in BD mode). But when the level drops (probably drops to lower power hybrid mode) the amp goes to protect mode. This happens when reducing the input signal level. Its the final output level that seems to trigger the issue.
When it goes to protect mode the amp reports a “DC fault” (register 0x70 = 0x04). There is not a lot of detail in the data sheet to what this means but I think it likely means there is a DC offset detected at the output.
I follow the same schematic in the TI application note with a same values. In terms of decoupling caps, they all are as close as to the TAS and located on the same TOP Layer.
Do you have any idea why it happens at the volume down?
