TAS2505: diagnostic and protect function

Hi Sir,

My customer would like to test short to ground and Short to V(24V) on speaker out signal.

Could you help to check the signal output does it support the diagnostic and protect function shown as below?

Hi Henry,

The device protection is OK for:

Output-to-GND short
Terminal-to-Terminal short
Output-to-Power short. Only if Power <= SPKVDD
Over Temperature

For short-to-power at higher power than supply, you would need some external protection for the device outputs.

Hi Ivan,

for output to power short, if Power is 24V.

Any suggestion for the external protect circuit ?

Hi, Unfortunately there is no previous app note or similar in this kind of protection from low power audio perspective. However you may find some reference designs if looking at automotive or isolation applications.
