Hi team,
The datasheet says that the mute pin has a delay of 120ms when switching, but if it is switched at a high speed (e.g. 100ns), what will be the effect on the IC?
Sincerely.
Ryu.

Hi Ryu,
What's the high speed means?
TPA3123 switching frequency is 250KHz, it is fixed. audio input will change PWM duty cycle, but not frequency.

Derek
Hi Derek,
Thanks for reply.
High speed means that the input to the mute pin is swapped at high speed.
Sincerely.
Ryu.
Hi Ryu,
Mute pin signal is not suggested to high speed. It should wait 120ms at least to mute or unmute output.

Derek
Hi Derek,
Thanks for reply.
I know that.
I'd like to know what happens if I do.
Or I'd like to know the Minimum Pulse Width of the MUTE pin.
Sincerely.
Ryu.
Hi Ryu,
If the timing is not suitable, the internal FET may work abnormal. Mute pin has no pluse width requirement, but it should wait 120ms to unmute or mute device again.

Derek
Hi Derek,
Thanks for reply.
If the internal FET works abnormally, will it break or will it be affected by noise, etc.?
Sincerely.
Ryu.
Hi Ryu,
Device will not break, device has internal protection logic.
Other risks need to be evaluated.

Derek
Hi Derek,
Thanks for reply.
I was able to resolve the original question.
Thank you so much.
However I have an additional question that I would like to reply to.
The 120ms on the MUTE pin is a typ value, do you know what the MAX value is?
This is needed to set the time when switching should not be done.
Sincerely.
Ryu.
Hi Ryu,
It is very hard to deep the max value data. The various should be very low, I think it should be in 10ms.
Regards,
Derek
