Hi Elec,

Your first capture is directly at the output of the Class-D, could you please get the same capture but using a low pass filter? It can be either RC or LC filter with cutoff frequency of ~24kHz.

Is the device completely powered up and out of shutdown when starting playback? What is your gain?

Getting an FFT of an unfiltered Class-D output is not very meaningful, this signal without filter is a PWM, which will have considerable amount of harmonics.

THD+N is the amount of distortion on a signal. at 1% the output signal would start clipping/saturating, which is when the signal amplitude is reaching the limit of the power supply voltage. After this 1% the distortion will begin to increase faster as it is non-linear. At 10% the signal is more clipped but perceived sound is still discernible.
Basically THD+N would depend on several factors as: input signal amplitude, gain, power supply, output driver, etc.
