TPA3132D2: Floating AM pins?

Hello,

I have a design where the AMX pins are supposed to be grounded but due to an error are floating. We don't actually need any of the AM avoidance, what is the impact of leaving these pins floating and could this cause unit to unit performance variaiton?

Hi,

We do not suggest to float AMx pins, the pins setting should follow datasheet design.

Thanks, but as I mentioned I have design where they ARE floating and I need to know what the implications on performance are

Hi,

If the AMx pins floating, the Fsw frequency may be not stable, it has risk that the Fsw change to other frequency.

Thank you, so we could have Fsw switch during operation, would there be any audible difference noticed? My application is all voice audio, no modulation or high frequency signals with information content. Would an end user be able to tell the difference in the audio or would it be something an spectrum analyzer would be required to see? I'm trying to get a sense for whether I have to implement a modification on all of my boards to ground these pins or if, for these that made it through with this error, we can let it be as there's no noticeable impact.

Hi,

We suggest to Hi-Z output before change Fsw. Changing Fsw will lead to current noise change. The change is not audible, but it may lead to fake OC if inductor selection is not suitable.
