Dear Sirs,
My customer found while the I2S input is a mono signal, the line out of PCM5102A always keeps stereo output!!
Is that normal or not?
If not, how to set the line out to mono output in this situation?
Thanks.

Hello,
Would you please provide the screen captures of all relevant I2S signals from scope such as Fs (LRCLK), BCLK , SDin and ...., so I can take a look at them. I believe the answer would be in plots of SDin and LRCLK .
Thanks,
Arash
Dear Sir,
The waveform as attached.
The blue one is R and L input for PCM5102A, and the yellow is LRCLK.
Customer tests twice and only R or L signal input at the same time, the other channel is no signal.
Please help to review it.
Thanks.
Hello Peter, the blue signal shows there are occasional inputs on the other channel too, Even though it is different but still there is something. Am I mistaken?
if they send a 48KHZ input but out of phase to Fs, that is if they duplicate what is seen above, do they would see activity on the output?
I would suggest to send a controlled input such that there is absolutely no data/activity on one channel's input (true mono) and then see if still they see any activity on SDout.

Arash
Dear Sir,
Sorry for confused and let me clarify first.
1. Customer provided only R.wave for right channel test and only L.wave for left channel test that is for mono input test.
2. while mono input, the PCM5102A still have stereo output
What customer wants to know is, if the stereo output is normal or not no matter mono or stereo input for PCM5102A?
If not, how to set the mono/stereo output for PCM5102A?
Thanks.
Hello Peter, I understood. The reason i asked was because on each experiment you showed, I see that there are some data available to the other channel ( I don't think it is ditter) so i think it would be helpful if they make sure there is absolutely no SDin on the other channel. ( see below)
I still think it is a good idea to look at the SDout to see what we see on output of each channels.
Some DACs have register options to have R or L or R+L/2 outputs which can be selected by user, but this one doesn't have that option to get the same signal on both channels.
Can they try different test such as sending different mono signal levels to the DAC and see if we get the same result. I highly suggest to monitor SDin and Sdout to see the difference.
