OPA1637: choice for Vocm in the datasheet

Part Number: OPA1637
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1795

Hello,

I have a question about the schematic on the first page of the OPA1637's datasheet (I'm looking at the August 2020 revision)

What is the reasoning behind using an output common mode voltage of -3.5V?

Has this any benefit compared to setting it to 0V?

It isn't even halfway between the +5/-10V supply rails.

My own design has a +12V/-12V supply and I have set Vocm to 0V.

Is there any disadvantage in doing this?

thanks for any thoughts
