TPA6211A1: AEC-Q100 question and difference between it and TPA6211TQ1

Part Number: TPA6211A1

Hi team,

I would like to ask an AEC-Q100 related question that why in datasheet it deleted the AEC-Q100 description?

Does it still support AEC-Q100? Customer would like to know whether it is an automotive device since the datasheet deleted the 'AEC-Q100 qualification' description and could you please kindly share the differences between TPA6211A1-Q1 and TPA6211TQ1?

Thank you.

  • Hi Zirui,

    I'm adding some information below:

TPA6211A-Q1 does not have the PI coating which TI quality has determined is necessary for TI ICs in automotive to prevent a BOAC short failure.
Slight difference in the lead frame, mold compound, and the PI coating. For this reason, we do not consider TPA6211A-Q1 as automotive anymore, but we are continuing to support this device for existing customers. The TPA6211A-Q1 has not changed at all since it was considered automotive, but TI standard for automotive has become stricter, now requiring the PI coat. We do encourage all our customers to switch to the new TPA6211T-Q1.

    Best regards,
