TAS5825M: capacitor change from 0.22uF to 0.47uF

Part Number: TAS5825M

Сould you please explain the reason for this change?

What problems can there be if we will use 0.22uF capacitors instead of 0.47uF?

Thank you

  • Hello Artur,

We noticed that in some corner cases(serious voltage clipping), the charge held by the 0.22uF bootstrap cap may not be enough, so we changed it to 0.47uF. This is a corner case. In most normal using case, 0.22uF or 0.47uF are suitable but if you expect to be using high power and especially low frequencies 0.47uF is needed so the recommendation was changed to cover this condition.

    best regards,

    Luis
