TPA2028D1: TPA2028D1YZF

Part Number: TPA2028D1

HI Team

We are using the TPA2028D1YZF in one of our project.  We are seeing some white noise coming form the speaker.

Below is the cases:

1. When we enable the amplifier there is some pop sound coming every time.

2. When we make a call and make speaker enable and put the mic on the mute there is some humm........ sound is coming always.

kindly help to resolve the issue.

  • Hi Udesh,

Let comment on each case below:

    1. As you may know, there are several e2e entries about pop noise, you can search around for some suggestions.
Pop noise is mostly caused by mismatches between the input +/- pair. A possible way to analyze and fix it would be to use a scope to check the transient during power up, then add/reduce resistance and capacitance in the signal path to affect the transient. However it may be different when you change from EVM to a custom board, so ideally you should apply fixes on the final hardware.
    2. Perhaps this is related on the mic state during mute.
You may try by disconnecting the mic from TPA2028D1 input and check if noise is no longer observed.
Check if input capacitor or other components could be related to the noise persistence.
Perhaps TPA2028D1 can also be controlled the same as Mic mute.
