PCM4222EVM: Noise floor level is high

Part Number: PCM4222EVM

Hi Team,

We have received this inquiry from our customer.

I have a question regarding the PCM4222evm evaluation board.
When I initialize the device, I have a reading of around -107db on the AES/EBU output.
then I pass signal through it and all is good.
but when I stop the signal, the noise floor is raised to around -89db.
I have the manually reset the board to bring the noise floor back to -107db
any clue what is causing this and what I should be looking for?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

This is odd behavior. can you share what setup you have? such as the input signal audio format, and other details?

Ill try and find an EVM and test this sometime this week to see if I can reproduce the effect.

If the issue cant be reproduced it might just be the case that we need to send out an EVM replacement.

    Regards,
    Arthur
