TLV320DAC32: Headphone detect Connection

Hello,

We want to use the TLV320DAC32 in our design and I was wondering if there is available guidance on how to select the component values for the Headphone detect circuit?

Also, Figure 35 on the datasheet contains a Mic Amplifier, Is this required if the desired headphones for the application will not contain a microphone?

We do not want to use the LINER & LINEL inputs in our application, are there any recommendations to pull down or leave floating the pins if unused?

Hi Daniel,

You may use the connection described in Figure 37 from data sheet if mic is not used, as you can see LINER is still used for detection: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tlv320dac32.pdf#page=37&zoom=100,0,613

I such case you may not need any specific components/circuit for detection, but if you want to check some examples you can consider TLV320DAC32 and TLV320DAC3203 EVMs:
