TAS5805M: Buzzing sound

Part Number: TAS5805M

Hi, team.

As for related question of Mute operation, when we input music setting volume is very small (for example -60dB),

we can hear the buzzing sound.

And we confirmed the wave by Audio Precision.

We try to other experiment.

We input burst signal as following picture.

We captured like skipping sound after send burst signal.

We cannot capture at EVM.

We set FS = 44.1kHz, on the other hand EVM FS = 96kHz.

Is it related sampling frequency ?

I will send you the ppc3 file after that.

Best regards,

K. Yamada

  • Hi Kenta

Can they try to read register 0x03 after they set mute, what is the value in it? I don't think it is related with sample frequency. They can also set EVM at 48KHz sample rate, check whether this will happen.

  • Hi Shadow,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I will try it.

Would you please tell me what will happen ?

Before we tried to set HiZ mode, this improved when there were no input.

But this noise occurs whenever there is any input.

    Best regards,

    K. Yamada

  • Hi Shadow,

Would you tell me what you want to know?
If you want to see what the register status is,you can confirm the status of the register, can't you?
I think the parameters are also below.

    POWER_STATE Register (Offset = 68h)
    AUTOMUTE_STATE Register (Offset = 69h)
    Best regards,

  • Hi Kenta

Yes, should read 0x68, not 03, it's a typo. I think they may not enter the Mute state successfully. Please check it first.

If you set the device in Hiz state, there's no voltage on the Output line, Mosfet stops switching. There should be nothing at all.

But if you set in Mute, we only decrease the input signal to -110dB, shouldn't test any signal across the speaker. But the Mosfet is still switching, you can still test voltage on the Output line.

You can send the confidential material to me through e-mail: shadow-he@ti.com

  • hi Shadow,

    Thank you for your reply.

I sent the message to your e-mail.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Kenta

Got it. Let's solve this through e-mail.
