I am currently attempting to send to and receive data from a TAS2780EVM evaluation module through MATLAB. Is there a User guide someone could point me to which would assist me with setting up the communication between the board and MATLAB?

For more context, I would like to be able to read the IV sense data being sent back by the amplifier, and process it in MATLAB. Is this possible without the use of a hardware I2C interface card, or can I establish all the data transfer over the USB connection?

Hi Christian,

You can use PPC3 GUI tool for USB connection with TAS2780 EVM? PPC3 installer SW installer can be requested using below link.

Thanks for the response, but it didn't quite answer my question. I already have PPC3 installed with the TAS2780EVM App, what I want to do is have the IV sense data be sent to MATLAB in real time, so that I can process it. Would you know how to do this?

Hi Christian,

You can use SDOUT of TAS2780 for such functionality. PPC3 can be used to program TAS2780 register so that IV sense data can be transmitted on SDOUT pin. Let us know if that would work for Matlab processing you like to do using IV sense data.

Thanks, if I send the IV data to the SDOUT pin, does that mean it will still be transmitted to the computer over the USB connection, or will I need to connect some additional hardware to read the SDOUT pin on the side of the board?

Hi Christian,

Data would be transmitted though SDOUT pin of TAS2780 device and available on SDOUT header on EVM. You can use additional hardware to read out SDOUT data and do further processing.
