TAS5630B: Gain of the TAS5630B, how to set full power on output.

Part Number: TAS5630B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA1632, TAS5630

Hello TI Team,

just built the prototype based on TAS5630B EVB schematic in Mono PBTL configuration. It is fully working fine, but I have a simple question related to output power.

With a single-ended signal on amplitude 0,4V, the using 8ohms speaker, the output is "weak". As I understand, the OPA1632 has set

the gain. For the example presented on slau288a.pdf, the signal level provided to TAS5630 from OPA1632 is almost the same as input.

TAS5630 has a gain constant as 23dB. With 0,4V amplitude signal, on the output, with 8 ohms, the output power will be max 15W.

To get output power ~100W, with 8ohm speakers, I need to amplify input signal by 10,5dB (3,5V/V).

The supply is 48V.

Do I understand correctly?
