PCM2912A: PCM2912A

Part Number: PCM2912A

Do the Human Input Device pins cause local hardware action. For example Pin30 MMUTE, does this mute the microphone internally in the chip; or set a "flag" for the Driver to mute the microphone?

I am looking for a way to convey a Press To Talk (PTT) action, to activate a radio,  across the USB interface. If the MMUTE status changes a flag, I can redefine the flag as a PTT action.

  • Hi James,

It appears like the device does have a "flag" of some kind since the User guide for the EVM shows that the volume/mute settings can be controlled like a typical sound device. I don't think that communication can happen the other way i.e. a mute hardware button showing that state back over USB.

    Thanks,

    Jeff
