Hi team,
My customer is encountering an issue with implementation of TAS5634.They are developing a subwoofer with this device but cannot get full output. Specifically, over-current protection is engaging at a lower level than shown on the datasheet. They have used other configurations as well, but for the sake of this conversation they are using a 56.5V rail and 5 ohm load. According to the datasheet (section 7.3), these conditions are acceptable. OC_ADJ resistor is 27k per guidelines in section 8.3.4. According to these guidelines, over-current protection should engage at 14A, but we cannot get any more than 10.5 - 11 A out of the amplifier before it shuts down. Over temperature protection is not engaging, and the shutdown is immediate when instantaneous peak current over 11A is produced.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this issue and / or what we can do to realize full output?
Warmly,
Connie
