Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA134, LME49720, INA1620
Why is the through-hole version of the INA137 not recommended for new designs, "NRND," but the INA134PA is not?
The -6dB INA137 is more useful in pro audio applications because it permits, with +4 dBu normalized inputs, 23 dB headroom with +/-15V supplies. The INA134, being unity gain, only provides an unacceptable 17 dB headroom.
The INA134, because it's unity gain, is useful in sum difference circuits.
There's applications for both parts and there is still life in through-hole. Please reconsider: This is almost as silly as the near-discontinuance of the LME49720 several years ago.
