TLV320AIC3204EVM-K: Setting up the TLV320AIC3204EVM-K for streaming audio tests

Part Number: TLV320AIC3204EVM-K

Hi,

I have the TLV320AIC3204EVM-K board and I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to get started. I was able to get the GUI installed on my Windows 7 computer (I had to run the software in compatibility mode as was suggested in the TLV320AIC3204EVM-K user guide). I would like to stream audio in real-time while changing the configuration settings, so I can see how the audio signal changes with each new setting. I was able to get some streaming audio in the automatic gain control configuration window, but that was showing me a gain vs. frequency plot, while I was more looking for a time-domain plot. Is real-time signal viewing and analysis possible with this particular evaluation board and GUI? I'm new to the audio processing realm, so I'm just trying to get a feel for things and learn by doing a bit.

I've attached the version of the user guide that I am referencing as well as the evaluation board's purchasing link on Digi-Key:

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Thank you.

  • Hi Orlando,

Unfortunately, our GUIs generally don't have time domain plots like that. We recommend you use a free software like Audacity or Goldwave to take time domain measurements of signals. From there you can select the EVM as an audio device and record digital audio data.

    Best regards,

    Jeff
