SRC4190-Q1: Input/Output Audio Formats

Part Number: SRC4190-Q1

Hello, Team,

We have 3 questions about input and output of SRC4190-Q1.

  1. When input audio format is set to 24 bit I2S and actual inputted data is 16bit I2S, would there be a problem?
  2. With the above setting, can we set output format to 16bit I2S?
  3. How is the data processed with above settings?
Are there any other descriptions on how it is processed than datasheet

Input data format setting : 24bit I2S
Input data format : 16bit I2S
Output data format: 16bit I2S

Best Regards,
Masaru

  • Hello,

In general when the slot is longer than the actual word width, it will be padded with zeros. So you can have a 16bit data for a 24bit slot, the extra  empty slots will be  zeros.

you can have 16bit I2S  output as well. please refer to user's guide  (SBAU088)  to set up as the following guide:

Table 3–2. SRC419x Input & Output Port Data Format Configuration
