IC to add a delay into I2S audio data

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA5050

Hello,

Does TI have an IC that can add delay into I2S audio data? Customer wants to add 0.65ms delay on their system. Let me know if we have a device for this use case.

If not, do we have any other solution to add delay?

Thank you.

  • Hello,

For the customers case, the TPA5050 may be a suitable IC to delay I2C audio data. The TPA5050 accepts a single serial audio input, buffers the data for a selectable period of time, and outputs the delayed audio data on a single serial output. The IC allows up to 170 ms of delay. Attached here is the datasheet. This IC is intended to adjust lip sync issues, so there is a frame delay section but that can be ignored. In the datasheet, refer to Table 4 for information on the audio delay registers.
