TPA3116D2: Same spice error as another thread (Unencrypted PSpice Average Model Package (slom309a) Error)

Part Number: TPA3116D2

TPA3116D2: Unencrypted PSpice Average Model Package (slom309a) Error

I'm trying the same simulation with the same results (I tried the TPA3118 average model as well, which worked).

This is listed as resolved but i did not find anything here to help resolve my (same) error.

I'm familiar with spice in general and in the model listing I don't see anything wrong with the model itself it says "RS=1E-3" but does not parse correctly...

**** FROM LIBRARY ../../../tpa3116d2_avg.lib ****
.MODEL DDEFAULT D N=1E-3 IS=8E-16 RS=1E-
-------------------------------------$

Please advise as to how to resolve.

(As a side note, I exported the TPA3116D2 model to a spice package I'm more familiar with, and it runs ok but seems to be exhibiting unusual current spikes that seem to be shoot-through. I want to try this in

the native Pspice and see if I get the same results...)

  • Hi,

Could you share you PSpice project file to us? Let's check it with software.

I can not find the problem root cause only by the warning/error message.

    Regards,

    Derek

  • I downloaded the SLOM299a from the website, this is the file I'm using. I used FILE - OPEN - PROJECT - TPA3116D2.OPJ and I'm looking at the schematic on page 1.   Then I press the start button and PSpice tries to run. Just to be sure I deleted the SLOM299a that I extracted and then re-extracted from the .zip file in case I caused some error.  Here are screen shots.  Thanks.

  • Hi Harry

We checked this file and found the same results with you. Seems this simulation project developed too long time ago, may not work with our nowadays Pspice version. We don't have a very good direction to fix this bug for now, may take very long time. Could you please use TINA reference design first? Sorry for the trouble.
