TLV320AIC3254：Configuration problem

Hi All,

I have a few questions about the configuration of the TLV320AIC3254。

1.I use the internal LDO, two left and right channel single-ended input, one differential input, one left and right channel output, and one differential output, do you have a recommended configuration?

2.When we used the XLR microphone, we found that the sound was very low, the driver was not configured with gain, and the bias voltage was 12V. Is there any improvement plan?

Hi,

1. You can refer to the reference document below for setup example, chapter 4 or use the preset configuration in the AIC3254 GUI.

Copy and modify the registers according to your use cases from the above.

2. Please cross check your XLR connection and ensure signals are correct. Please refer to the datasheet or above reference document for the input level condition/limitation. Section 2.2.2.2.1 talks about the MICBIAS level from this codec. I'm not sure where this 12V is coming from.

12V is the phantom voltage provided by the additional DCDC. The volume of IN1_L/IN1_R and IN2_L/IN2_R is OK, but the signal amplitude of the XLR microphone is too small. Is there a separate register for adjusting the gain of IN3?

IN3 and all the rest of INx are just input selection, gain and volume are common to all.

Check your XLR microphone input itself since IN1/2 are OK.

How to confirm that IN3 in the configuration is differential mode, not single-ended

It's based on the register configuration on Page 1 Register 52 for Left ADC P terminal and Page 1 Register 54 for Left ADC M terminal.

You can read the register or check on any output when IN3 is configured either SE or DIFF.

Setting register P1 R55 just enable the MBIAS, there are other configuration so check it against the example or use the EVM init script to test first.

Recording is just taking the digital of the I2S bus and the tool processes that so check the tool settings or try with other recording tool.

Can I eliminate the DC offset by configuring the Adaptive Filter Configuration register? If so, how can I configure it?

I suggest try with other recording tool like Audacity/Goldwave.
