PCM4220: Digital output when input exceeds the max input level

Part Number: PCM4220

For the PCM4220PFB, the analogue supply is 4V and the VCOM is 1.95V.

Each input is 2.8Vpp or 5.6Vpp differential.

What would happen to the ADC conversion data if the input is 3Vpp?

What would happen to the ADC conversion data if a 2.8Vpp clipped sine wave is received?

A colleague has experienced a problem with sigma-delta internal counters which cannot deal with overflow. The ADC would output random data when the input level is exceeded.

The PCM4220 is a stereo ADC so it should handle spikes due to microphones being dropped (for-example).
