LM49450: POP noise

Part Number: LM49450

Hi Team,

Have you ever heard the pop noise issue before?

Our end customer asked us to solve the “pop noise “ during mute and unmute.

We changed MUTE register only. Do you have any comments?

Regards,

Roy

  • Hi Roy,

You may search in e2e for "pop noise" you'll find several threads about this. It's common in analog input amplifiers, this device has both analog and digital inputs.

As you may learn from those thread, this phenomena is caused by a transient during power up/down, it is very dependent on each system and it may require some testing to understand where the transient originates. Some things to check is that impedance at the input matches if you have differential input. You may also increase bypass capacitor which should slow down the charge and discharge transients.
