TAS5806M: DSP internal sample rate

Part Number: TAS5806M

Hey experts,

application report SLOA263A describes three different process flows. One of them works with an DSP internal sample rate of 96kHz. May I ask, how to switch the DSP to 96kHz and setting up the SRC (input is at 48kHz)?

The datasheet is no help... As always with TI's datasheets, if the is an holy application, the datasheet lacks so much informations. And the application report only tlks about PPC3, which I do not use/own. Why it is so difficult to write and publish an detailed datasheet?

best regards from Germany

Micha

  • Hello Micha,

PPC3 is the best way to configure the device and DSP with the desired configuration as it modifies all necessary registers needed and in the right sequence to ensure proper configuration of the device. You can configure the device as desired and generated a header file to import to your SoC/system with the proper startup sequence and full Register and DSP configuration.

    best regards,

    Luis

  • Hello Luis,

thanks for your help! Seems, with the values in the DSP Control register the DSP is running with 96kHz. I noted this, because the level meter is at half speed due to the changed time constant.

The DSP processing speed seems not to affect the BQ's, isn't it? I still have to calculate the filters with 48kHz to be at the defned center frequencies.

    best regards
