TAS5631 PWM input - output Delay

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5631, TAS5261

Hello TI Community.

I have a question about the TAS5631 digital audio amplifiers:

Is there any delay between the lower level PWM input signal and
the higher level PWM output signal ?

On the way from the PWM input to output is some logic in the functional block diagram but there are no details.

Thanks and Greetings from German

  • Hello Mr. Krug

Yes there is a delay - first the loop filter, then the comparator, then the deadtime control and gatedrive - all in all aprox 300-400nS.

This is all due to the feedback loop - if you look at our open loop power stages like TAS5261 where there there is no feedback the delay is lower around 150-200nS

    Best regards
