Hello,
Soldering the thermal pad is a bit of a challenge for a DIY-er, so I was wondering if there might be a workaround.
Is the pad internally connected to ground or is it the connection to the ground plane that does so? If it is internally connected, would it be acceptable to not solder it but to use thermal compound to provide the necessary heat-sinking instead? Of course, if there's a lot of current flowing through the pad, this won't work.
I realize this is a very unconventional approach but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks for humoring me!
