using TLV320ADC

Part Number: CC8530
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2562, TLV320ADC3101, TAS5518, TAS5708

Hi Team,

A customer intends to use the CC8530 device with TLV320ADC in a product. However, this is not on the list of codecs approved to function with the CC8530. Is it still possible to integrate the two products together or do they have to select a different codec?

In addition, they would plan to use the TAS2562 on the speaker end of their product but it is not preloaded in the pure path configurator for cc8530. Is it still possible to use it?

From my understanding, the pure path console can export a configuration file to be imported to the pure path cc8530 configurator for both devices, and this would then allow either device to be fully controlled by cc8530. However, the customer has not been able to find this clearly in the documentation, Can you please help?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi Marvin,

    The TLV320ADC3101 is specified inside https://www.ti.com/tool/PUREPATH-WL-CFG since that's what the CC85XXDK(-Headset) supports in its hardware design, however the datasheet and TRM does clarify that other TI audio devices supporting serial audio IF, I2C and GIO can be accommodated.  The same applied for digital amplifiers and may be limited to the TAS57XX family, thus excluding the TAS2562.  At least it has not been tested during the time which the documentation was written.

    Support for a range of TI codecs, DACs and ADCs (including AIC3101 and derivatives, AIC3204 and derivatives, DAC32, ADC3101, AIC34)

    Support for a range of TI digital-input class-D amplifiers and PWM processors (including TAS5708 and derivatives, and TAS5518)

    Regards,
