TAS6422EQ1EVM: Optical Input don't work

Dorian,

You will need to use an oscilloscope to check the MCLK, SCLK, FSYNC, and SDIN signals.  You can also look in PPC3 and see if you have any faults.

Thanks for your answer. I attached you a working picture with the usb and a don’t working picture with the optical. As you can see, I have a red led Fault when it don’t work, but I don’t know why.

You have a problem with your I2S clocks.  Please measure them with an oscilloscope and reply.

I mesure MCLK, FSYNC, SDIN1 and SCLK with and without jumper, but I can't mesure SCL and SDA because the signal isn't stable and I can't mesure it with the oscilloscope.

   The waveform you showed, seems distortion a lot. May I ask do you set the probe of oscilloscope into AC couple or DC couple? Could you please use DC couple to capture?

   The SCLK clock, the frequency seems doubled as you described with or without jumper. This shouldn't be correct. May I know what jumper are you referring to ?

   The SDIN data, the frequency should be similar with SCLK, but at your side, it seems much smaller, and waveform totally abnormal. Please double check your oscilloscope settings, and check them again. Thank you.

The oscilloscope was set into AC and DC, I did again the mesure like this : 

Without jumper between gnd and clock.

To know if my probe was perfectly set, i test my 5V 1kHz output, it's ok : 

After that, I check SDIN1 :

SDIN with the same set as SCLK (not the same frequency ..) :

   The clock's frequency seems no problem, only the SDIN data seems not correct. Do you have any other equipment could send out optical audio data?

I already tried with an other equipment to send out optical audio data and it don't work too.

I tried it with an other amplifier and it's working perfectly.

That's really strange. 

Can I send the audio data with another input than USB and optical ? 

I need to send my DSP signal (ADAU1701).

   Is it possible you could generate the electrical clock signal (PSIA) directly? Without the jumper at J5/J6/J7/J8, you could send in clock signal directly.

I can't tell for now, the waveform of your SDIN data indeed seems some problem, usually it's frequency should be very high, similar with SCLK. I found you optical output may used 96KHz FSYNC, are we able to change it into 48KHz and have a try?

I'm currently in 48kHz on Purepath and on the input. I have always this waveform without music :

I don't know why, but it's working perfectly in USB.

I come back to you because Arash told me that. I use the EVM exactly like in the notice but it don't work.

As you can see, I mesured the clock and the optical INPUT don't work correctly.

I can only assume the Optical input or the DIR9001 has failed.  We will need to get you a new one.
