Input and output on TLV320AIC and TLV320ADC, path to ground?

This is related to the FAQ post on unused pins. For inputs that will have sources which will be connected and disconnected on these chips should we add a path to ground on the inputs? For example, on a device that will have inputs which are optional (RCA inputs) should we add a path to ground? Does this look OK for an input on a TLV320AIC3105?

Hi,

Yes, we recommend AC-coupling unused analog inputs to ground so this connection is fine.

Im sorry, but that schematic doesn't show anything connected to ground. Just the DC coupling capacitor c7/c8 which is not tied to ground. Can you please clarify what you meant by "An example of this is implemented on our EVM as well. "

Hi Jay,

Apologies for the confusion. We recommend connecting an unused analog input to ground with an ~0.47uF capacitor. You can insert a jumper in place of R21 node, one pathway leading to analog input or otherwise shorted to ground.
