TLV320ADC3140: SPI writing & reading programmable coefficient register on page 2 & 3

Part Number: TLV320ADC3140

Spi clock and phase has been configured as in the figure 87 and 88 of the datasheet.

Writing the configuration registers seems to work (audio output is coherent with parameters written in the biquad)

The problem is the reading:

Setting the "page register" to 0 and then reading the coefficient registers (for example register 8) gives wrong values. For example the first read byte is always 0xFF.

Normally there is no problem on reading on page 0, but after a reading on page 2, the first successive reading of 1 byte in page 0 returns always 0xFF.

In the picture below you can find Clock(red) and miso(blu)... green byte is the first replyed byte.

This happens with ADC powered ot unpowered (reg. 0x75).

We need to read this registes only for debug.

  • Hello Andrlich,

Thank you for reaching out. Please include a screen capture that includes both the MOSI and MISO lines so that we can verify what command is being sent to the device.

Also, if possible, please let us know what page and registers you are trying to read. Some of these have default values that are 0xFF by default.

    Best,
    Andrew
