Hi team,
Whether the output pins (Pin5 and Pin8) of TPA6211 support short to ground or short to battery when there is audio signal output or no audio signal output?

Hi Haury,
This device protection will operate the same regardless if there is an audio signal present.
Please notice that shot to battery is only supported up to VDD potential, higher voltage protection is not featured.

Hi Ivan,
Do you mean that the device have short to Bat and short to GND function?

Haury
Hi Haury,
The protection of this device could be considered a thermal protection. Basically, if a short occurs, it will cause overcurrent which in turn would heat up the device, then it gets protected.
In any case, the outputs of the device may sustain voltages only up to VDD of the same device, but not higher voltages.

Hi Ivan,
According to the requirements of the project, the output end of TPA6211T-Q1 needs to perform short to Battery(12V) and short to GND experiments. If the coupling capacitance is added to the output end to meet the experimental requirements, will the output of audio signals be affected?
Best regards,
Hi Liuhuan,
Adding series capacitors at the output should not affect the resulting signal considering it is differential and the DC offset is cancelled anyways.
However, you may test this thoroughly as any extra capacitance in the signal path could cause pop during power up or power down.
