Driving Telephony 150 Ohm handset with AIC3106

Hello,

For the AIC3106, we would like to drive a 150 Ohm Telephony handset with RIGHT_LO+ and RIGHT_LO- . Is there an impact to the handset loudness if we don't use the high powered outputs? What 3106 output port is recommended to drive a handset?

Hi Gary,

The line outputs are intended to drive high z loads. The spec is 10 k Ohms or greater. The HP outputs can drive down to 8 Ohms so the HP outputs would be the best choice. If you need to use the line outputs you might want to use a buffer.
