Hi

We are evaluating the TLV320ADC6140 for use in an industrial monitoring context. Really like the feature set of this ADC and think it will be a good fit for our needs but a little stuck with getting a Linux implementation for reading the TDM data up and running. Do you have any examples and/or reference applications on how to configure / use with the Linux driver ? We have the EVM and are able to configure with PurePathStudio to get the TDM output but trying to figure out how to read the data coming in.

Appreciate any help / guidance you can provide.

Just wanted to add that we are aware of the linux kernel driver but looking for some examples of TDM implementations.

Kindly offer the Kernel version, and platform vendor, such as Qcom, Mtk, iMX, Amba or else?

Thank you for the response, apologies for the late reply, I am working in this project with Kuldeep.

The link which you had provided in the previous reply was helpful in understanding the device trees.

We are using the Linux kernel version 5.15 and the iMX platform (iMX 8M Mini) board.

What will be the maximum number of channels we can read simultaneously using the iMX board over TDM?

According to datasheetTLV320ADC5140 Quad-Channel, 768-kHz, Burr-BrownTM Audio ADC datasheet (Rev. A) (ti.com)

TLV320ADC6140 Quad-Channel, 768-kHz, Burr-BrownTM Audio ADC datasheet (Rev. A) (ti.com)

Both chips can support

Multichannel high-performance ADC:

– 4-channel analog microphones or line-in,

– 8-channel digital PDM microphones, or

– Combination of analog and digital microphones

You can use two chips in parallel to support 16-slot TDM.

I think this code meet your requirements. It can support multiple chips.

As to iMX 8M mini whether support 16-slot TDM, kindly consult platform vendor.
