TLV320AIC3109-Q1: about the reset pin

Part Number: TLV320AIC3109-Q1

Hi  team,

here are 2 questions about RESET

  • if RESET is pulled down for a long time, what state is the device in and can it be considered to be in reset mode all the time? Can the registers be read and written during this time?
  • Can I keep the device low power consumption by pulling RESET down without using the codec?

thanks

  • Hello Hazel,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    1. While RESET is low, it is considered to be under reset until the device is pulled high again. While RESET is low all device configuration registers will be cleared (reset to the default datasheet values). Registers should not be read or written at this time. Plese see datasheet section 7.3.1 Hardware Reset for more information.
    2. Using the RESET pin as a low power consumption is not recommended, since it will reset all device configurations. For a low power mode, it may be more helpful to have host controller power down all device blocks.

I hope this helps. Let me know if this answers your questions.

    Best,
    Andrew
