PCM2903C: No audio output on linux and windows

Part Number: PCM2903C

I have designed a simple board using PCM2903CDB, which is able to output audio while connected to macOS, but not from Windows11 or Linux(Ubuntu20.04). Both OSes are able to detect a USB Audio device being connected and I am able to direct audio to this device, but no sound is coming out of the speakers. Do I need additional configuration for Windows and Linux? Please help me troubleshoot this issues.

  • Hi Rajiv,

Below is the command in linux I've used to test playback:

    • speaker-test -D plughw:CARD=CODEC -c 2

If no sound output, please confirm whether the playback device has been selected correctly or not. Also, pls check the 'PCM Playback Volume', check whether the set volume is mute status.

In Windows11, can you check the sound setting? if everything is normal, but still no output, maybe we should consider to grab the USB message by Wireshark

    Wireshark Installation guide as following:

    Thanks

  • BTW, would you mind to share your schematic for us to review?

    Thanks
