TAS2563: TAS2x63EVM: Version conflict and Matlab failure

Part Number: TAS2563
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2X63EVM

Hi,

I'm trying to get PPC3 with the TAS2563 EVM plugin up and running. At the moment it gives me error messages about Matlab runtime not being installed and in path (it is) and about EVM hardware ID.

I have read the manual at https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau835a/slau835a.pdf The device is found and the sample rates are set correctly according to figures 5.2 through 5.4. The Windows 10 computer has just gone through a complete hard reset. The EVM board has the original jumper settings and 5V power on the input plug. It draws 143mA.

When I start PPC3 and sign in, everything looks OK.

When I click on "TAS2563 EVM" on the left, I get two error messages. Please see attachments below.

I followed instructions and re-installed Matlab Compiler Runtime and checked the path. It was already set correctly.

Please let me know how I can evaluate the TAS2563 using the development kit from you. Do I need a firmware update on the EVM?

Best regards,

Børge

  • Hi Børge,

You should also have access to TAS2563 QFN EVM PPC3 plugin, can you please confirm that? You should use that one instead if using TAS2x63EVM.

Regarding the FWID warning message, you can ignore that for now, this is a feature that will be enabled in future updates.
However, the MATLAB error must be fixed. After reinstalling MCR and verifying the path, do you still get the same error? We've noticed this error usually happens when PPC3 is installed behind a firewall or other constrained corporate networks.

  • Hi Ivan,

    Thank you for the feedback!

When I install the QFN version of the app, the progress bar halts after about 30%. I tried twice and got to the same spot.

Then I uninstalled PPC3 and installed it again. Now, all my app accesses are gone.

Please go through my account and re-enable access to the apps that I need to work with the TAS2563QFN dev kit.

    Thanks,

    Børge

  • Hi Børge,

I just revoked and re-approved your access to these two plugins. You may try in about 1 more hour. I still wonder if it's all related to a network limitation like firewall or similar.

If after this you still have issues, we can reach out and follow up offline with further instructions.

  • Hi Ivan,

Thanks for revoking the licenses. Installing the QFN app has the exact same progress. After about 1/3 the bar just stops. I have left it for five minutes now and will leave it for an hour to see if anything happens.

    Best regards,

    Børge

  • Hi Børge,

I'll reach out to you offline to share further instructions just in case this is still stuck in the installation progress.
