PCMD3140: AVDD supply level performance

Part Number: PCMD3140

For the AVDD supply, the datasheet shows it can be supplied by either 1.8V or 3.3V.  Is one preferred over the other?  When used with digital mic voltage levels from 0 to 1.8V, is there any performance difference based on the AVDD level?
