PCM4104: about FS1、FS0、FMT2、FMT1、FMT0、MUTE、DEM1、DEM0

Part Number: PCM4104

Hello Experts,

My customer would like to use PCM4104 in standalone mode. If customer would like to change sampling mode, Audio data format configuration, MUTE and De-emphasis configuration, what customer should do? It should assert /RST(9-pin) to logic low and change input level, and then de-assert /RST to logic high?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Hi Fujiwara-san,

Yes, the customer should do as you described, making sure to follow the reset guidelines on page 16.

  • Hi Jeff-san,

Thank you for answer. I understand.

Customer would like to know a timing requirements as follows. Would you answer it, please?
    1. Do you have a timing requirement from /RST=H to L transition to setting the logic level for FS1, FS0, FMT2, FMT1, FMT0, MUTE, DEM1 and DEM0 terminals?
    2. Do you have a timing requirement for /RST=L to H transition from setting the logic level for FS1, FS0, FMT2, FMT1, FMT0, MUTE, DEM1 and DEM0 terminals?

    Best Regards,
    Fujiwara

  • Hi Fujiwara-san,

We don't have a requirement for that case. My recommendation is to follow the reset guidelines on page 16 to put the device in reset. Then treat the logic levels as stable once they satisfy the logic thresholds on page 3. After that you can continue the reset guidelines on page 16 to take the device out of reset.

    Best regards,
