PurePath Wireless Configurator: Bidirectional audio streaming

Hi,

Thank you for bidirectional audio streaming support on this version, it is work close to what my customer requirement.

Anyway from Change Log of Version 1.2.0: Supports streaming of two audio channels from protocol master to protocol slave, and one audio channel from protocol slave to protocol master. Unidirectional streaming from protocol slave to protocol master is currently not supported.

Can I have to check when the schedule of more audio (4 Slave) channel from protocol slave to protocol master will support?

I have customer asking on this feature.

    Any rough estimates on a timeframe for FW supporting bidirectional streaming between a master and multiple slaves?

    Hi Ryan, 

    This has high priority on our list but we have not set an exact date for this release. Rough estimate would be the middle of fourth quarter. This will still be within the maximum 4 mono channels / maximum 4 slave boundaries.

    What specific application scenario are you looking to cover?

    Thanks Kjetil,

    Our use case is a master with two slaves (headsets). One stereo stream would be sent from the master to both headsets, while each headset would have a mono channel for voice back to the master (resulting in a total of 4 audio streams). Will will be operating in host-controlled mode.

    In going through our design, I came up with a question which I'm not sure if you can answer yet: Say we have headset A and headset B. I'm assuming in our case that headset A's mono channel would be mapped to the logical channel input left, and headset B's would be on input right, resulting in a 'stereo' stream out of the master with one mono voice on left, and another on the right. So the question is, each slave needs to be tied to a logical channel -- how will that be done in the configurator? Will there be two separate slave devices in the static device list, resulting in separate firmware images for each slave (undesirable)? Or will it use the dynamic channel selection feature to control which logical channel a slave produces (preferred)?

    If there is an opportunity to evaluate beta FW with bidirectional audio with two slaves, that would be helpful to us as we go through our design. We do have an NDA in place with TI.

    This scenario is precisely what we intend to cover. 

    As for the question this is one of the things we have to sort out and where the details are not yet ready. We do envision some kind of dynamic behavior here.
