PCM6360-Q1: Timing sequence requirement

Hi,

do we have timing sequence for power up.

customer used to: power up 6360, then initialize 6360, then give MCLK, then BCLK, tehn get TDM

and they want to adjust it to: give MCLK, then power up, then initialize....

is there any risk? and what's our recommended one?

Hey Yuan,

Section 10 of the datasheet provides the proper recommendation for the powering up the pcm6360. Follow those steps for your application for proper performance of your ADC. TI does not guarantee any results outside these recommendations.

hi Ore,

let me make it more simple.

from datasheet, pull up avdd/iovdd should be earlier than input and output enable.

customer want to know what if the input clocking is always here, no matter the avdd/iovdd is pulled high or low. but they will make sure the input/output enable is later than avdd/iovdd pulled high.

is there any risk?

Hey Yuan,

Yes, pull up avdd/iovdd before the input and output are enabled.

TI doesn't guarantee the performance of the PCM6360 outside the scope of the power-supply sequence but you can leave the clocks running before the power up sequence. Ultimately, I would suggest following the power sequence from the datasheet because the clocks are considered inputs and outputs depending on your configuration. You have MCLK so it would be an input.
