PCM9211: if device will automatically mute the DIR after detecting non-PCM?

Part Number: PCM9211

Hi team,

I have a same question as this thread:  https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio-group/audio/f/audio-forum/650937/pcm9211-automatically-mute-the-dir-in-case-non-pcm?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=non-pcm#

This thread hasn't been responded. So I initiate a new thread to ask this question: If PGM9211 will automatically mute the DIR after detecting non-PCM? Are there any description in datasheet(I didn't find it)

Thanks

BRs

  • Hi Kian,

No it won't mute the DIR on its own. The design of the device is such that a non-PCM detection would send an interrupt which can be used by an SoC to mute the device either with a reset signal or a register write. Refer to section 7.3.8.6.8
