PCM6240-Q1: About VBAT pin when diagnostics is not used

Part Number: PCM6240-Q1

Hi experts,

I'm a little confused that it should tie VBAT_IN to VBAT or VBAT_IN floating when diagnostics is not used.

What is the difference between 2 threads.

In my understandings, VBAT can be Floating(Open) if disabled in the register setting, but VBAT connection is required if not done. Is this correct?
